Telesis planned the redevelopment of Springfield’s historic Union
Station and the adjoining Hotel Charles parcel, in collaboration with
Jones Lang LaSalle, the Pioneer Valley Transit Authority, the City, and
the Springfield Redevelopment Authority. When public funding is
complete, the development will transform the neglected station into a
lively civic center, with a new hotel and community education facility,
as well as a regional transportation hub. The redevelopment will
enliven the building while carefully preserving the historic
architectural detail.
The revitalization of Springfield’s Union Station will help the City
build upon the area’s foundations of education, culture and technology.
These themes will be complemented by niche retail, restaurant and
entertainment facilities. The $115 million investment will serve as a
catalyst for revitalization in Springfield’s downtown.
