THOMAS PAINE | SAN FRANCISCO, CA

Thomas Paine Apartments in San Francisco’s Western Addition was a high priority for preservation of affordable housing. Telesis was asked to partner with Bethel A.M.E. Church, a neighborhood faith-based organization, to acquire, renovate, and preserve Thomas Paine Square Apartments. With Bethel, Telesis obtained $10.5 million in financing for the acquisition and renovation of the property. Within a year following acquisition, Telesis completed the renovation program, which included new roofs, replacement of the exterior siding, separate metering of electricity, and substantial landscaping and interior improvements to the 98 units. A community center, with a meeting room and other facilities, was also fully renovated. A new cycle of preservation will soon begin.
